 An outstanding and near fine copy of Dickens Little Dorrit. The 1857 first edition published by Bradbury and Evans, London and Illustrated with plates from etchings by Hablot K. Browne ("Phiz"), including the "dark plates" and the added pictorial title page and frontispiece. First Edition in book form. First State with the errata on page xiv; with "William" for "Frederick" on page 317 line 27; with "Rigaud" instead of "Blandois" from pages 469 to 473; and with signature BB2 misprinted as "B2" on page 371. Little Dorrit was first published in 19 monthly installments, each with two illustrations by Phiz.  Condition: (8vo) 21x13.4 cm (8¼x5¼"),625 pages - bound by Bayntun in full polished calf, ruled in gilt, raised bands, Morocco spine label, spine tooled in gilt; all edges gilt, inner dentelles, hand marbled endpapers, custom slipcase. Touches of wear to board edges with some wear along the joints; occasional faint foxing and a couple of stray pencil notations; Overall, a near fine and extremely collectible copy of Dickens Little Dorrit.
