First Edition / First Printing / Second state with corrections made and third state portrait frontis without the cloth under the bust of Twain. (BAL 3415). Title page shows 1885 and copyright page shows 1884 and printed by J.J. Little & Co., New York. Featuring 174 black and white illustrations throughout by Edward W. Kemble. Condition: 8vo. 366 pages - Publishers' Green cloth boards with titles and decorations stamped in black and gilt. Edgewear with corners bumped and rubbed and spine tips softened with some fraying to the cloth. A scratch with a few spots to the back cover. Hinges a bit loose, a Christmas 1886 inscription in ink to the front flyleaf, considerable scattered foxing to preliminaries and a number of interior pages. Overall, a very good copy of this popular 1885 first edition of Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
