An unusual and quite rare, signed copy of the 2001 first edition of Where are you Going? To see a Friend! Published by Doshin-Sha Publishing in Tokyo with the original price sticker in Japanese on the jacket cover. This copy is boldly signed and inscribed by Eric Carle to Carol in blue ink on the title page. An amazing collaboration between two of the world's most famous children's book illustrators. Eric Carle and Kazuo Iwamura combine to tell the story of a dog, a cat, a rooster, a goat, a rabbit, and finally a child who join together on a journey to see their friends in this unique bilingual collaboration that unites cultures and languages. Iwamura works from the back in Japanese and Carle starts at the front in English and eventually, everyone meets to dance and sing across a central double-foldout spread. Condition: 8vo.- 11" x 9 1/4" - 36 pages - Publishers paper illustrated boards with decorated endpapers. A small 2" scratch to the jacket cover has transferred onto the front board, otherwise in fine condition. These signed Doshin-Sha copies rarely come up for sale on the internet!
