Good-Bye Mr. Chips ~Description:  A near fine copy of the FIRST AMERICAN EDITION and the true First Edition published months prior to the British Edition. A large, signed vintage photograph of Hilton is tipped into the front of the book. The book's Title Page is printed in blue and black and the words 'Published June 1934' are printed on the Copyright page. The dust jacket is correct for the first state of the first edition and priced at $1.25. Condition: 8vo, 126 pp.  Publisher's blue-lettered cloth with just a bit of softening to the lower spine end and a previous owners name in ink to the upper free endpaper. The jacket is in very good condition with some chipping to the folds and spine ends, sunning to the spine, toning along the edges and several small dampstains barely visible along the upper spine. Overall, a very nice and very collectible copy, clean and sound and now, quite SCARCE with the first state jacket.
