Large 4to 7 1/4" x 9 3/4" x 1 1/4", 157 pages with green cloth boards and a full color paste-down Christie illustration to front cover. Title stamped in gilt to front along with gilt print and decoration to the spine. This book features 16 full color plates protected by tissue guards and more than 20 black and white illustrations throughout. Condition: A Very Good copy with light wear to edges and the head/tail of spine. A bit of fraying to the corners. The interior is clean and unmarked, the book is square and the binding is tight although one of the color plates is a bit loose. Some toning and foxing to a few pages as is usual with this book.*Howard Chandler Christie was an artist best known for his turn-of-the-century illustrations of women, which became an icon know as the "Christie Girl"and succeeded the "Gibson Girl". In 1938, Time magazine proclaimed Christy "the most commercially successful U.S. artist.
