An outstanding and near fine copy of 'Mr. Rabbit & the Lovely Present.' The first edition signed without personalization on the blank page opposite the title page by both author charlotte Zolotow and illustrator Maurice Sendak; "With warmest wishes -- Charlotte Zolotow - Maurice Sendak." This 1963 Caldecott Medal Honor Book features some amazing full page color illustrations by Sendak. It is a first edition from Harper & Row with the 40-80 code on the front flap and four reviews of Zolotow's other books on the rear flap. Unfortunately, this near fine dust jacket is clipped on the front and rear flaps so I can't say with any certainty that this is THE 1962 first printing which would have been priced at $2.50.  Book Condition: This oblong 8vo. Unpaginated; Bound in publishers' pictorial boards and color decorated endpapers. Just light wear to the spine tips. The wrap-around Sendak illustrated full color dust jacket is near fine with the upper corners clipped and very minor wear to the spine ends and lower front edge. I'm sure they are out there, but I can't find another copy signed by Maurice Sendak. Overall, a very collectible copy signed by both author and illustrator.
