A very good copy of the 1942 first edition of A Witness Tree, published by Henry Holt and Company in New York. This is the stated second printing, signed and dated by Robert Frost in the year of publication on the front free endpaper; " Robert Frost May 1942." Condition: 8vo. 91 pages, original cloth stamped in gilt, engraved frontispiece portrait of Frost. Lower corners bumped, light fading to spine print, a bit of toning to the endpapers and a few interior pages. A crease along the upper corners of pgs. 63-65, and a June 1943 Prize Inscription written in ink on the front blank preliminary page. The original dust jacket is well worn and in only good condition, clipped at the corners with the $2.00 price present. Wear along the folds and spine with some chipping at the fold and spine ends, sunning to the spine and a couple of closed tears. This 1942 Signed first edition and second printing of A Witness Tree would make a terrific addition to your Robert Frost collection.
