Don’t let the apples drop! Three animal friends practice balancing apples on their heads in this hilarious introduction to counting, created by Dr. Seuss himself and illustrated by Roy Mckie. One of the most sought-after Seuss first editions. Dr. Seuss would go on to write over a dozen books under the pen name Theo. LeSieg. A 1961 Random House Beginner Books #B-19, with the price of "$1.95", glossy boards, 19 titles plus this one listed on the back panel, and no "Beginner Books" logo on the front cover. Condition: 8vo. 63 pages - glossy boards with wear to edges, corners bumped and rubbed, and spine tips rubbed and worn. The interior is clean and unmarked with a bit of spotting or soiling to the lower edge of a few pages. The dust jacket with the $1.95 price has some creasing and closed tears with acid free tape repairs on the jacket verso. Chipping to the fold and spine ends, wear along the spine, and some light toning and soiling to the rear cover. Overall, a very good copy of the hard-to-find 1961 first edition written by Seuss using the pseudonym of LeSieg.
