A very good or better copy of Thomas Wyatt Bagshawe's scarce 1939 first American Edition of Two Men in the Antarctic - An Expedition to Graham Land 1920-1922. Published by The Macmillan Company in New York and Cambridge England and printed in Great Britain at the University Press. It is a sought after and quite scarce title and is lacking the dust jacket. 8vo, 292pp, 33 plates, half-tone illustrations, 2 folding panoramas, 3 maps on endpapers. Publishers' Cream cloth with titles in red on the spine. Some toning to the lower front with some sunning and toning along the spine. The interior is clean and unmarked with some intermittent foxing to a few pages. In 1920, Thomas Wyatt Bagshawe left his studies at Cambridge University to take up an opportunity to join the British Graham Land Expedition to Antarctica, to continue mapping the western coastline of the Weddell Sea, and this is his story. Overall, a very collectible copy lacking its dust scarce dust jacket.
